I started paddling with the Greenland paddle in 2001 and I’ve never stopped.
I love Inuit culture, and I enjoy a lot doing Greenland skimo rolls. Since 2010 I promote with other local associations the Italian Rolling Championship, which takes place every March in Genova.
I discovered the BCU universe in 2008 and since then, I’m always trying to improve my knowledge in technique and to introduce the BCU system in Italy, running twice a year 3* courses for sea kayak and 3* open canoe and L1 & L2 coach.
In 2009, with my partner in live and paddling, Mauro Ferro, I created the school of sea kayaking Tatiyak (http://www.tatianacappucci.it/Tatiyak/Tatiyak.asp) and we have the big luck to coach in the whole country, from Venice to Palermo and in other countries like Croatia, Malta and Israel too.
My big passion is travelling around the Mediterranean Islands (Sicilia, Sardegna, Corsica, Creta, Croate, Ioniche and Balearis Islands, Cyclades, Sporades, Peloponeso and nearly all greek islands). From the wonderful experience in Scotland “Around the Highlands” every trip has been accompanied by a dedicated blog, all together in Tatiyak’s blog (http://tatiyak.blogspot.it)
I’ve always written about kayak and I’ve collaborated for some years with Italian magazines about kayak and canoe.
In 2008 I took care editing the book “L’altra metà del mare” (“The other half of the sea”), a collection of short stories about women who love the sea and paddling. On 2019 we publish the book “Isole Baleari in kayak – Alla scoperta di Maiorca, Minorca, Ibiza, Formentera”, a travel diary and tourist guide about kayak navigation, the first of a future series.
