Rai Puig (Tarragona, 1985) holds a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (INEFC), Level 2 Piragüisme Monitor for the Royal Spanish Kayak Federation, and Sea Kayak leader and Coach level 2 accredited by British Canoeing, among other degrees. For more than 10 years, Rai has worked exclusively as a kayak instructor in different companies and schools in the sector, both in the Costa Brava, Costa Dorada, the Balearic Islands and even in remote places such as Patagonia and Greenland. He has collaborated on several occasions as a trainer in the Technical Weekends organised by the Pagaia Club for its members. One of his great passions as a kayaker is making expeditions around the world, and he already has a long list of journeys: Baja California (Mexico), New Zealand, Wales, Basque Country, Greenland, Mallorca, Menorca, and his longest expedition covered more than 1200 miles (2000 km) in Summer 2014 when he paddled alone up the Inland Passage from Vancouver (Canada) to Alaska, experiencing and recording numerous adventures in a documentary called PADDLING TO ALASKA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAR5iIXSGbw)  Then in the Winter of 2018 he successfully completed another solo expedition on Papua Island, about which he made his second great documentary titled SOLO IN PAPUA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTF2_NeivsY&t=29s). Rai currently combines his instructor job at Cap de Creus, with working as an international guide through SK KAYAK; he also conducts numerous lectures on his documentaries and shares his experiences and lessons learned during his kayak trips, promoting the sport of kayaking everywhere he goes.
